Tell Your Story with Timeline-Latest Feature from Facebook

Yesterday, in F8 developer conference in San Francisco, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature in Facebook – Timeline. There were few other major plans discussed too, no doubt Facebook Timeline was the most interesting.
You must have observed that Facebook is rolling out several new features in recent days. Industry believes that flood of new design/features is due to increasing competition from Google Plus. I am sure that Facebook is having several other surprises left in their magical bag, which you are going to see in coming weeks.
So what is Facebook Timeline?
In the early days of Facebook, profiles used to be very simple. You were having an option to give just your basic details. As we progressed in Facebook, profile has become one of the most important area of focus in Facebook. You share several things like your thoughts on some political event, birth of your child, your family photos, how are you feeling today, weather in your town today, and blah-blah.
Over time, you share thousands of things in Facebook profile. Since one can view only the recent changes, it is sure that more important updates from you, slips down and would be hidden under Older Posts at the bottom of the page.
Timeline is an easy way to discover your best moment or important updates from Facebook profile from the day you joined Facebook. Thus Timeline is a kind of profile, which collects best of your profile update at a single place.
Facebook says:-
Timeline is wider than your old profile, and it’s a lot more visual. The first thing you’ll notice is the giant photo right at the top. This is your cover, and it’s completely up to you which of your photos you put here.
As you scroll down past your cover, you’ll see your posts, photos and life events as they happened in time. You choose what’s featured on your timeline. You can star your favorites to double their size or hide things altogether.
It is probable that at some part of your Facebook life, you didn’t update your profile about something important which happened to your real life. At the time of creation of Facebook Timeline, you will be given a chance to Filling in the blanks. You can insert an event manually in your Facebook Timeline.

Personally I like this idea. It is something which will not be forced to you like Facebook Ticker or Facebook Top Story. If you like it you can go for it and create a Facebook Timeline.

Facebook timeline. So much word about it and they still can’t convince me to use it. Maybe it is because i am used to the original facebook profile,but i haven’t turned into it yet.
The features presented here are cool and i have to admit that i did not know about them, so i guess i will soon switch to it – i will feel alone as it seems really soon since lots and lots of people are using timeline nowadays….
